Ahoy! Olympic Heights Ahead!
Ahoy! Grab your treasure and prepare to escape! The Ship of Doom is sinking fast, and you only have 12 minutes to solve the puzzles and unlock your life boat before the ship sinks for good!
Throughout the week, the students produced an exciting experience aboard a pirate ship by embracing focus and collaboration. Countless mesmerizing pieces of art were created by our motivated Grade 2 students. As you enter the room, your eye catches hearty wooden planks, colourful ship railings, fluffy clouds, enticing gold coins, and an ominous skull-and-crossbones flag looming above you! The deck of the Ship of Doom boasted thematic barrels, mysterious treasure chests, and a powerful cannon. Of course, no pirate ship would be complete without a centre mast and steering wheel – with which the students at Olympic Heights inventively constructed out of just a few simple materials.
This escape room was no scurvy dog – students assembled puzzles that truly challenged their families and friends. From simple key-finding puzzles to complex cyphers, the Grade 2 students at Olympic Heights fully understood the process of creating a fun and effective escape room. The students also made interactive magnet puzzles that revealed a key, and stashed riddles in their “message in a bottle” puzzle!
Our productive week at Olympic Heights was a ton of fun, and yielded a fantastic turnout for our Celebration of Learning on Thursday night.
